Steve Demme

  • Steve and his wife Sandra have been married since 1979. They have been blessed with four sons, three lovely daughters-in-law, and six special grandchildren. Their fourth son has Down Syndrome and lives with them in Lititz, PA.

With God's help, Steve has been seeking first the Kingdom since graduating from Grove City College and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He is the creator of Math-U-Seeand the founder of Building Faith and Families.

Keynote Sessions

  • When we began our journey of teaching our children we purchased several little desks at a yard sale and refinished them. Then we acquired textbooks and workbooks and taped the alphabet to the walls around our school room. Later we moved to the kitchen table, and finally we discovered a well rounded education is not confined to a classroom, but embodies character, relationships, and God.

  • Believing the good news in our innermost being is transformative and restorative. We can only give to our children what we have received ourselves. As we comprehend God’s care and affection in new ways, we will be able to minister the same to our families.

Breakout Sessions

  • 2012 was the hardest and best year of my life. On the one hand I had personal blindspots revealed which caused pain to those who were closest to me. At the same time, God revealed his unconditional love in a new way. I am now, by God’s grace, in the best place I have ever been with my wife and sons.

  • Steve begins by relating the ingredients for a doable plan of family worship and shares obstacles he wrestled with to lead his family. Then we will break up into small groups and practice having family devotions. Come and be equipped and encouraged.

  • After exploring the foundational concepts to be an honest and open communicator, we will break up into small groups and practice what we have learned. Healthy relationships are based on safe principles of communication.

  • Come listen to Steve’s testimony of the last thirty years as the father of a child with special needs. He shares what his family has learned, and the special, rewarding, and joyful role John has played in their lives. Even in the difficult experiences of life, God proved faithful and His grace sustained them and brought good out of their struggles and disappointments.

Bonnie Landry

  • Bonnie is a Catholic wife and mom who lives on Vancouver Island with her husband Albert with whom she has raised and homeschooled seven children who range in ages from 19-38.  Five are now married, and they have a dozen beautiful grandchildren. Host of the podcast Make Joy Normal: Cozy Homeschooling, Bonnie addresses homeschooling and beyond - babies, community, joy in family life and why it all matters.

Keynote Sessions

  • Exploring the “why” of all the aspects of our life should always be a first consideration. Often we find ourselves moving and being in the details of our life and forgetting the “why” and sometimes forgetting that there even is one.  Let’s explore the whys with Bonnie in this keynote talk.

  • In this talk, Bonnie takes a close look at the heart homeschooling—the home, and movement toward something deeper. Toward slower mornings and an education woven into the fabric of daily life. She will explore how home education and homemaking work together to create an environment where children can grow at their own rhythm, where learning feels lived rather than performed, and where relationship comes first.  Let’s celebrate what’s happening at home—the work that shapes confident, compassionate, lifelong learners.

Breakout Sessions

  • Probably the primary way our family life differs from having kids in school is that we typically teach multiple ages in one setting. Bonnie will share her experience (the joys AND the challenges!) of homeschooling a diverse age range. Lots of time for discussion and questions.

  • What does sorting socks have to do with a rich homeschooling life? Order shapes our mood, our productivity, and our ability to notice the Good, the True, and the Beautiful. Bonnie will explore how clutter quietly expands to fill every available corner of our homes and our minds. This talk offers both encouragement and practical steps for  creating room for joy to flourish.   Lots of time for discussion and questions.

  • This talk is a practical, encouraging look at why reading aloud is not optional but vital to family life. You’ll discover how to “dig” into the books you’re already reading—to turn story time into a rich exploration of geography, culture, economics, government, and history. Through examples, you’ll see how shared stories gather scattered family members, spark meaningful conversations, and gently build thoughtful, discerning kids. You don’t need complicated plans or workbooks, just a willingness to ask what, why, when, how, where, and who. Reading aloud, done with curiosity and connection, becomes the backbone of learning and one of the most powerful tools we have for raising curious humans—one chapter at a time.   Lots of time for discussion and questions.
